As a Business Development Manager, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure clients have a memorable experience. You should have a strong background in sales conversion, client engagement, and the ability to connect with both new and existing clients.
The role:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to secure new group and event bookings by targeting past and current customers.
- Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities through lead generation, client outreach, and networking.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business and maximise revenue potential.
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Create tailored sales packages, bundling multiple annual events for existing clients to enhance retention.
- Work within an annual sales budget, tracking and optimising venue occupancy for maximum profitability.
- Collaborate with the venue team to ensure smooth event execution and exceptional client satisfaction.
- Incentivise event organisers and management companies to make the venue their preferred choice.
About you:
- Demonstrated sales experience, preferably in the events, hospitality, or conference industry.
- Strong knowledge of sales and marketing strategies, including lead generation, customer relationship management, and digital marketing.
- Experience working with event planners, event staff, front-of-house managers, and key partners.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- A passion for building relationships and consistently exceeding client expectations.
- A results-driven, data-focused mindset with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.
- Previous experience in event sales, conference sales, or hotel sales is highly desirable.
- Strong collaboration, presentation, and influencing abilities.
- Proven ability to drive sales and successfully convert leads.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work.
