1. Confirm rates
We’ll start by getting rates confirmed early in the process. If this is a new role, we’ll confirm the Award Rate.
2. Candidate outreach
We’ll advertise your position and search our database to find a right-fit temporary professional for your role.
3. Interviews
All of our temporary candidates come pre-vetted, though we’ll still conduct interviews to ensure proper skills and culture fit – and present the shortlist to you for consideration.
4. Compliance
We’ll collect compliance documents from any candidate where we do not already have this information, including ID, VEVO checks (if required) and references.
5. Further testing
If required for your role, we’ll conduct extensive additional testing tailored to the needs of the position, such as Excel skills tests, police checks and WWCC.
6. Confirmation
With a candidate vetted, tested and approved, we’ll offer them the role and confirm their start date.
7. Onboarding
We’ll onboard the candidate onto our payroll system, and confirm a primary and secondary timesheet approver on your team. We’ll then send the candidate their contract, along with any internal compliance documentation which must be filled in.
8. Check-in
On the first day of your candidate’s placement, we’ll check in to ensure they started on time and feel like a good fit.
9. Candidate check
We’ll also check in with the candidate on their first day, and at the end of their first week, to make sure they’re happy in their new temp role.
10. Timesheets
Your new temp will complete a timesheet on a weekly basis, which we'll send to you to make sure you approve. We’ll then run payroll and send you a weekly sales invoice.

What do I need to know about running a temp team?
There are a few key points to keep in mind when utilising temp talent from WOW Recruitment. Some points to remember include:
- Timesheets need to be submitted by Monday afternoon.
- Timesheets need to be approved by Tuesday afternoon.
- Payroll is run on Thursday, so the latest your temp will be paid is Friday.
- We must comply with Award Rates suggested by Fair Work guidelines.
- If the candidate works over 38 hours in 1 week, we’re required to pay them overtime rates in line with Fair Work guidelines.
- Your candidate must take a lunch break when they work over 5 hours.
- Your candidate will be paid weekly, one week in arrears.
- You will receive an invoice every week with 7-day payment terms.
How will my temp staff and contractors get paid?
When we onboard new temporary professionals, we bring them into our own payroll system. During their placement with your business, candidates will submit weekly timesheets for your approval, and if you’re happy, we’ll pay them for those hours. You’ll then receive a weekly invoice for the hours worked.
What happens if a temporary team member calls in sick?
While our temporary candidates always strive to complete their full placement without interruption, getting sick is a natural part of life. If a member of your temp team falls ill, they will usually contact us first. We’ll then let you know immediately, and arrange a replacement if required.
