WOW Recruitment is seeking a solutions-focused Business Operations Manager to support the General Manager of a well-established, metal industry engineering and manufacturing business based in Western Sydney.

This role is perfect for a highly organised professional with a strong background in executive support, combined with deep financial and HR acumen within a technical environment.
  • Office based - Western Sydney
  • 8.00am to 4.30pm - 5 days
  • Salary: $90-110k + Super
  • Join a close, collaborative group where everyone values each other’s contributions
This is not your typical support role – it's less about managing endless travel or a back-to-back diary, and more about being a steady operational support who understands the business and its engineering/manufacturing processes.
You’ll bring a blend of executive administrative strength, profound financial literacy, and comprehensive HR understanding, acting as a critical connector across all departments.

Your Role:
  • Provide high-level executive support to the General Manager, with a focus on operational efficiency, key communications, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Lead and manage HR and Finance administration, including advanced payroll support, supplier contract management, onboarding processes, and financial reporting assistance.
  • Draft and refine critical business correspondence and develop internal documentation and process improvements for manufacturing and operational workflows.
  • Monitor and uphold client experience standards, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between engineering, production, finance, and HR departments, acting as a central point for complex queries.
  • Manage the GM’s calendar, travel, and email communications, ensuring strategic priorities and deliverables are met within a dynamic industrial setting.

About You:
  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or senior administrative support within the manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong administrative and operational management skills coupled with a deep, practical understanding of finance and accounting principles(experience with Xero highly regarded but not essential).
  • Demonstrated experience in HR administration, including payroll, onboarding, and basic HR policy support.
  • Confident and proficient using the Microsoft 365 Suite, including advanced Excel for financial analysis.
  • A proactive self-starter who is respectful, calm under pressure, and values structured, consistent operational processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity, integrity, and absolute confidentiality, particularly in sensitive business and technical contexts.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and capable of making sound, autonomous decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Friendly, professional, and calm presence, ensuring a well-organised, efficient, and welcoming work environment for all staff.

  Perks and Benefits:
  • Respected, long-standing team – Join a close, collaborative group where everyone values each other’s contributions.
  • Purpose-driven work – Contribute to Australia’s capability through a business that blends tradition with innovation in advanced manufacturing and engineering.
  • Genuinely balanced hours – 8.00am to 4.30pm means exactly that. No after-hours expectations.
  • Hands-on impact – On-site role with direct access to leadership and the factory floor, where your work makes a visible difference every day in production and operations.
  • Proudly Australian  – Locally owned company built on quality, relationships, and pride in what they make.
