Position: Account Manager (Marketing Agency Role)

The Account Manager in a marketing agency is the key liaison between the agency and its clients, responsible for fostering strong relationships, understanding client business objectives, and ensuring the seamless delivery of integrated marketing campaigns. They act as the client’s advocate internally, translating their needs into actionable briefs for creative, digital, and strategy teams.

Day to day, an Account Manager manages client expectations, develops project scopes, nurtures existing accounts for growth opportunities, and oversees the financial health of their projects. They are excellent communicators, proactive problem-solvers, and adept at managing multiple campaigns concurrently in a fast-paced agency environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships within the marketing sector.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, understanding their needs, challenges, and objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive project briefs and translate client requirements to internal creative, digital, and strategy teams.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring smooth execution from briefing to delivery and reporting.
  • Manage client expectations, project timelines, and budgets, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and new business development within existing client relationships.
  • Present proposals, campaign strategies, and performance reports to clients.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Creative, Digital, Media, Strategy) to ensure successful campaign delivery.
  • Prepare and manage client contracts, invoices, and financial reporting for projects.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, client industries, and competitive landscape.

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) as an Account Manager within a marketing, advertising, or digital agency.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of various marketing disciplines (e.g., digital, social, content, traditional).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Project management aptitude with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities.
  • Budget management experience and financial literacy.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure.
