Position: Head of Marketing
The Head of Marketing is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the comprehensive marketing function of an organisation. This role drives the overall marketing strategy, brand development, and campaign execution to achieve ambitious business goals, enhance market presence, and deliver measurable ROI. They typically lead a diverse team of marketing professionals and report directly to the executive leadership.
Day to day, a Head of Marketing sets the marketing vision, manages a significant budget, oversees all marketing channels, analyses performance, identifies growth opportunities, and ensures alignment with sales and product strategies. They are a results-driven visionary, adept at building high-performing teams and navigating complex market dynamics.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, and implement the overall marketing strategy aligned with company objectives and revenue targets.
- Lead, inspire, and manage the entire marketing department, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
- Responsible for the strategic allocation and management of the marketing budget to maximise ROI.
- Drive brand strategy, positioning, and messaging to strengthen brand equity and market leadership.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and optimisation of all integrated marketing campaigns (digital, traditional, content, PR, product marketing).
- Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Implement robust analytics and reporting frameworks to measure marketing effectiveness and provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate closely with sales, product, and other executive teams to ensure seamless go-to-market strategies.
- Manage relationships with key external agencies, media partners, and technology providers.
- Identify and implement emerging marketing trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Report on marketing performance, KPIs, and strategic initiatives to the executive leadership team.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Extensive proven experience (10-12+ years) in senior marketing leadership roles, with significant time as a Head of Marketing or Marketing Director in a high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive significant revenue and market share.
- Exceptional leadership, team building, and talent development capabilities.
- Superior financial acumen, P&L management, and operational efficiency expertise.
- Deep and comprehensive understanding of all marketing disciplines and their strategic integration.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
- Results-oriented, commercially astute, and a visionary leader.
