WOW Recruitment are partnered with a B2B event organiser to hire a BDM focusing on sponsorship and partnership solutions across an established APAC events portfolio.
You’ll be joining a high-performing sales team that has almost doubled multi‑million dollar revenue in the last few years, despite headcount barely moving - a strong signal you’ll have the platform (and market appetite) to go big.
This is consultative, high-value sales - not transactional. You’ll be doing the deep research, building a point of view, and crafting pitches that land meaningful partnerships (often in the six-figure range).

The Role
- Own new business end-to-end: prospecting, discovery, pitching, negotiation and close
- Sell structured sponsorship packages as well as bespoke partnership solutions
- Work with a broad mix of target organisations (with a strong lean toward tech vendors)
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders (C-suite, VPs, Heads of Marketing/Sales, regional leaders)
- Maintain strong pipeline hygiene and forecasting discipline (CRM-led environment)
- Collaborate internally to deliver on sponsor outcomes while protecting commercial boundaries
- New business is the priority, with some existing accounts passed over where there’s clear expansion potential
- You’re consistently building pipeline and converting it with clear next steps and momentum
- You’re comfortable running complex buying cycles and holding value through procurement
- You’re tracking toward $1M AUD in year-one revenue (considered very achievable in this environment)
- You’re winning fewer, larger deals - not chasing high-volume, low-value transactions
- You know how to get your message across - whether you’re shaping a commercial story for a senior buyer, aligning stakeholders, or solving a problem quickly with your internal team.
- You do the research others skip, then walk into the pitch with a sharp point of view.
- You’re consultative by nature, but you’re not passive - you guide decisions and close confidently.
- You like being accountable to a number, and you back yourself to beat it.
- Strong new business/closing experience in consultative B2B sales
- Evidence you can land larger deals (think meaningful multi-stakeholder sales, not high-volume SMB)
- Full sales cycle capability - you’ve built it, run it, and closed it
- Highly organised, resilient, and consistent with outbound activity and follow-up
- Backgrounds that translate well include tech sales (AE/BDM/BDE), enterprise/subscription-style sales, and other complex solution-selling environments
- Base salary of $80-90k + super
- Uncapped commission
- 10% commission on new business
- First-year OTE $170K–$190K + super
- Strong year-on-year earning growth for consistent performers, with top earners reaching $350K–$450K + super
