WOW Recruitment is partnering with a rapidly growing financial services firm providing accounting, lending, financial planning, insurance, and real estate solutions. With operations spanning Gregory Hills, Penrith, and Liverpool, the firm prides itself on delivering high-quality, client-focused services across multiple financial and property sectors.
As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking a capable Intermediate Accountant to support the accounting team, manage day-to-day accounting tasks, prepare financial statements and tax returns, assist with compliance and advisory work, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality client service across a diverse portfolio.
What you will be doing?
- Prepare BAS/IAS, GST, FBT, and other compliance returns.
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Prepare and maintain journals, reconciliations, cashbooks, general ledgers, and balance sheets.
- Assist with client correspondence, liaise with clients and regulatory bodies, and respond to queries.
- Support senior staff with advisory tasks, forecasts, budgets, and tax planning.
- Assist with client onboarding and system transition projects (e.g., Xero setup and data entry).
- Ensure all work is accurate, completed on time, and properly documented.
- Participate in internal training, mentoring, and professional development.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Australian public practice or business-services accounting.
- Accounting, Commerce, or Business degree (or equivalent).
- CA/CPA qualified, working towards, or willing to commence shortly.
- Strong technical skills: cloud accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks), GST/BAS, company/trust tax, financial statements, general ledger.
- High attention to detail, organised, deadline-driven, and committed to accurate, quality work.
- Strong communication skills; client-focused with ability to liaise with clients and regulatory bodies.
- Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and supportive of team members.
- Comfortable in a dynamic multi-division firm (accounting, financial planning, lending, real estate) and collaborating across overlapping roles.
- Experienced or comfortable working with companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Familiar with cloud accounting workflows and assisting with client transitions to cloud systems (e.g., Xero).
- Supportive, collaborative environment with mentoring opportunities.
