With operations spanning Gregory Hills, Penrith, and Liverpool, the firm prides itself on delivering high-quality, client-focused services across multiple financial and property sectors.
As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to lead an accounting team, manage key client relationships, deliver hands-on services, drive team development, and contribute to the broader success of the business while supporting the growth and evolution of the business.
What you will be doing?
- Manage BAS/IAS, company tax returns, and compliance for SME clients (companies, trusts, SMSFs, partnerships, individuals).
- Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns across various entity types.
- Lead client engagements end-to-end, managing scope, fees, deliverables, and lodgement deadlines.
- Provide tax planning, advisory, and structural strategy advice (trusts, company setups, business sales/valuations).
- Oversee system transition projects, including training and support for clients and staff.
- Mentor, coach and review junior/intermediate accountants, ensuring accuracy, consistency and high-quality service delivery.
- Identify process improvements to enhance workflow, client service, and firm growth.
- Maintain proactive client communication and manage expectations, timelines, and compliance
What do you bring?
- 5+ years in public practice accounting (7+ preferred).
- CA or CPA qualified.
- Strong technical skills: Xero (and other systems), BAS, company tax, financial statements, GST, and compliance.
- Experience managing or mentoring a small accounting team; able to delegate, review, coach, and lead.
- Excellent communication; liaise confidently with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies (ATO, ASIC).
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and reliable under pressure.
- Client-focused with ability to build relationships and provide strategic, value-add advice.
- Strong work ethic, collaborative, and committed to professional growth and firm development.
- SMSF experience, including Class accounting software and coordination with independent auditors.
- Experience working with a diversified financial services or multi-division firm.
- Comfort with periodic travel between offices.
