A leading multi‑brand consumer publisher is seeking a Senior Social Media Lead to own and shape social strategy across a portfolio of well‑known brands.
This is a senior role suited to someone already operating at Head of Social, Director of Social, or equivalent level, who understands how social functions inside a publisher or media organisation and is comfortable influencing senior editorial stakeholders.
This is not a hands‑on posting role.
This is a strategy, influence and leadership position.
About The Role
Sitting within the central audience function, this role is responsible for setting social direction across multiple brands with different audiences, tones and priorities.
You will work directly with senior editors and content leaders to translate platform changes, audience insights and editorial vision into clear, actionable social strategies that drive growth and impact.

Your role is to set the strategy, frameworks and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Own social strategy across a portfolio of consumer brands
- Partner directly with Editors in Chief and senior content leaders
- Translate platform and algorithm changes into practical guidance
- Establish best practice frameworks and playbooks
- Influence senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
About You
You will have:
- Senior social leadership experience within a publisher, media, broadcast or entertainment business
- Proven experience guiding multiple brands with different audiences and voices
- A strategic mindset with the ability to simplify complexity
Highly regarded:
- Experience in editorial‑led environments
- Commercial understanding of how social drives audience, revenue or subscriptions
- Experience setting social frameworks rather than executing content day to day
