Position: Logistics Manager
The
Logistics Manager in an events or experiential agency is critical for ensuring the seamless movement and coordination of all physical resources required for an event or activation. They are responsible for the detailed planning, execution, and oversight of transport, accommodation, inventory, and on-site operational flow, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Day to day, a Logistics Manager develops complex logistical plans, manages relationships with freight and transport providers, coordinates crew and guest movements, and meticulously tracks all physical assets. They are adept at problem-solving unforeseen challenges, ensuring everything arrives where it needs to be, when it needs to be there, without a hitch.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistical plans for all agency events and activations.
- Manage all aspects of transportation, including freight, couriers, and people movement (e.g., talent, crew, VIPs).
- Coordinate accommodation requirements for staff, talent, and guests.
- Oversee inventory management of all event equipment, materials, and branded assets.
- Source, negotiate with, and manage a network of logistics and transport suppliers.
- Develop detailed load-in/load-out schedules and site access plans.
- Manage customs documentation and international shipping for overseas events where applicable.
- Implement contingency plans for potential logistical challenges and emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport, safety, and customs regulations.
- Conduct post-event reconciliation of logistics costs and provide detailed reports.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Event Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (4-6+ years) as a Logistics Manager or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced events, experiential, or large-scale production environment.
- Strong understanding of domestic and international logistics, customs, and freight processes.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage complex schedules and multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
