Position: Marketing Director
The Marketing Director is a senior leadership role responsible for leading and executing the overall marketing strategy to drive business growth, enhance brand equity, and achieve commercial objectives. They oversee all marketing functions, manage significant budgets, and lead a team of marketing professionals to deliver impactful campaigns.
Day to day, a Marketing Director develops annual marketing plans, identifies market opportunities, manages brand positioning, oversees digital and traditional campaigns, analyses performance data, and reports on ROI to the executive team. They are a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and adept at translating market insights into actionable marketing initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and lead the overarching marketing strategy aligned with business goals and revenue targets.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team across various specialisations (e.g., brand, digital, content, PR).
- Manage and optimise the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation and maximum ROI.
- Drive brand positioning, messaging, and overall brand identity in the market.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and optimisation of integrated marketing campaigns across all channels.
- Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation to inform strategy.
- Analyse marketing performance data, generate insights, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Collaborate closely with sales, product development, and other departments to ensure marketing alignment.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, media partners, and technology providers.
- Identify emerging marketing trends and technologies, advising on their adoption.
- Report on marketing performance and KPIs to the executive leadership team.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA is highly regarded.
- Extensive proven experience (10+ years) in senior marketing leadership roles, with significant time as a Marketing Director or Head of Marketing.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive significant business growth.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and talent development capabilities.
- Superior financial acumen and experience managing large marketing budgets.
- Deep understanding of both digital and traditional marketing channels and their integration.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Results-oriented with a strong commercial and customer-centric mindset.
