Position: Traffic Manager
The
Traffic Manager in a busy creative or experiential agency is the orchestrator of workflow, ensuring that creative and production resources are efficiently allocated and projects move seamlessly from briefing to delivery. They are the gatekeepers of project timelines and resource availability, optimising internal processes to meet deadlines and maintain creative quality.
Day to day, a Traffic Manager schedules creative and production tasks, manages resource capacity, monitors project progress, identifies potential bottlenecks, and ensures timely delivery of assets. They are highly organised, detail-oriented, and excellent communicators, thriving in a fast-paced environment where managing multiple concurrent projects is the norm.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimise the workflow of creative and production teams within the agency.
- Schedule and assign projects to internal resources (designers, producers, copywriters, etc.) based on capacity and deadlines.
- Monitor project progress daily, ensuring tasks are completed on time and flagging potential delays.
- Identify and resolve resource conflicts or bottlenecks proactively.
- Implement and maintain efficient traffic management systems and tools.
- Work closely with Account Management and Project Management to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure smooth project handovers.
- Maintain an overview of all ongoing projects and upcoming pipeline.
- Generate reports on resource utilisation and project efficiency.
- Assist in forecasting resource needs based on projected workload.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience (3-5+ years) as a Traffic Manager or similar workflow management role within a creative, advertising, or experiential agency.
- Strong understanding of agency project lifecycle and creative production processes.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in traffic management or project management software (e.g., Workfront, Asana, Monday.com).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Detail-oriented and highly analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities.
