Position: Client Services Director (Events/Experiential Agency)
The
Client Services Director is a senior executive within an events or experiential agency, holding overall responsibility for the health of all client relationships, the quality of service delivery, and the growth of the agency's client portfolio. They lead the entire client services department, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and consistently high levels of client satisfaction.
Day to day, a Client Services Director defines and implements client service strategies, mentors and develops account teams, drives new business initiatives, and acts as an executive escalation point for key clients. They are crucial in shaping the agency's reputation, fostering long-term partnerships, and contributing to the overall business strategy and growth.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the entire Client Services department within the events/experiential agency.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure exceptional client satisfaction and retention across all accounts.
- Responsible for the overall revenue growth of the client portfolio through new business and organic growth.
- Provide executive-level oversight and strategic guidance on key client relationships and projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Account Directors, Group Account Directors, and their teams.
- Oversee the financial performance of the Client Services department, including forecasting and P&L management.
- Drive new business development efforts, including leading pitches for major prospective clients.
- Define and optimise client service processes and best practices within the agency.
- Collaborate with other departmental heads (e.g., Creative, Production) to ensure integrated and seamless service delivery.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the agency, building its reputation in the market.
- Monitor client feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in senior client services or account leadership roles, with significant time as a Client Services Director or Group Account Director within a leading events, experiential, or creative agency.
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth, managing large client portfolios, and leading successful new business efforts.
- Exceptional executive-level client relationship management and strategic partnership skills.
- Superior leadership, team building, and talent development capabilities.
- Strong financial acumen, P&L management, and operational efficiency expertise.
- Deep and comprehensive understanding of the events, experiential, and broader marketing industry.
- Outstanding negotiation, presentation, and public speaking skills.
- A visionary leader with a strong commercial and client-centric mindset.
