Position: Creative Services Director (Events/Experiential Agency)
The
Creative Services Director in an events or experiential agency is a strategic leadership role responsible for the overall output, quality, and efficiency of the agency’s creative department. They manage the creative workflow, ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, and foster a collaborative environment where creative vision is successfully translated into deliverable experiential solutions.
Day to day, a Creative Services Director oversees resource allocation for creative teams (e.g., 3D designers, graphic designers, copywriters), implements efficient creative processes, manages project pipelines, and ensures brand consistency across all client work. They are the bridge between creative conceptualisation and practical execution, ensuring a smooth and high-quality delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the agency's creative services department, overseeing creative workflow and resource allocation.
- Optimise creative processes and systems to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of projects.
- Manage project schedules and deadlines for the creative team, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines.
- Liaise closely with Account Management, Project Management, and Production teams to ensure creative concepts are feasible and executable.
- Ensure brand consistency and adherence to client guidelines across all creative outputs.
- Oversee the management of creative assets, templates, and digital files.
- Provide mentorship and professional development to creative team members.
- Manage external creative freelancers and studios when required.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and adoption of new creative tools/technologies.
- Contribute to new business pitches by outlining creative process and resource capabilities.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related creative field.
- Proven experience (7-10+ years) in a senior creative services or traffic management role within a creative, advertising, or experiential agency.
- Strong understanding of creative processes and project lifecycles, especially in experiential design.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and optimise creative workflow for multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and mentorship skills.
- Proficiency in creative project management software (e.g., Workfront, Asana) and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for design and brand consistency.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven agency environment.
