Position: Group Account Director (Events/Experiential Agency)

The Group Account Director is a senior executive leadership role within an events or experiential agency, responsible for overseeing a significant portfolio of client accounts and leading a team of Account Directors and their teams. They are instrumental in driving overall agency revenue, shaping client strategies, and ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction and business growth.

Day to day, a Group Account Director provides strategic vision for a group of accounts, fosters executive-level client relationships, leads major new business pitches, and manages the P&L for their group. They are key to the agency's leadership team, contributing to business strategy, talent development, and maintaining the agency's competitive edge in the market.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a group of key client accounts, responsible for significant revenue targets and client retention within the events and experiential sector.
  • Develop and implement overarching account strategies to drive substantial business growth.
  • Provide executive-level strategic counsel and partnership to C-suite clients.
  • Lead major new business development initiatives and pitches, securing large-scale projects.
  • Responsible for the financial performance and P&L of the entire group of accounts.
  • Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and professional development to a team of Account Directors and their subordinate teams.
  • Collaborate with other departmental heads (Creative, Production, Strategy) to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional, innovative, and impactful experiential campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities for agency diversification and new service offerings.
  • Contribute to the agency's overall business strategy and growth plans.

 

Skills & Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in senior account leadership roles, with significant time as an Account Director or Group Account Director within a leading events, experiential, or creative agency.
  • Proven track record of driving multi-million dollar revenue growth and managing large account portfolios.
  • Exceptional executive-level client relationship management and new business development skills.
  • Superior financial acumen, P&L management, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Outstanding leadership, team building, and talent development capabilities.
  • Deep and comprehensive understanding of the events, experiential, and broader marketing landscape.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • A strategic visionary with a strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset.
