Data and Payroll Administrator
3 month temporary contract | Fully office based, Sydney CBD
$35-$38 per hour + super + weekly pay
Immediate start, full time Monday to Friday

We are partnering with a well-established community services organisation to find a proactive Data and Payroll Administrator for an initial 3 month contract, with the potential to extend. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong Excel skills who enjoys working with data, improving processes and ensuring accuracy within payroll and timesheet administration.

About the Role

You'll work with payroll and timesheet data from multiple sources, identifying discrepancies, improving processes and ensuring critical employee records are accurate. If you're someone who loves spreadsheets, spotting patterns, solving problems and making systems work better, this role is for you!

Responsibilities
  • Process and manage current and backlogged timesheet data received via email, paper forms and PDFs
  • Convert manual and paper-based records into accurate digital formats
  • Review, update and maintain large volumes of data within Excel
  • Be able to download, filter, sort and manipulate spreadsheets efficiently
  • Identify missing information, discrepancies and duplicate records
  • Track outstanding timesheets and follow up where required
  • Create templates and improve administrative processes
  • Support payroll-related administration and timesheet interpretation
  • Use problem-solving skills and available tools to resolve data issues
About You
  • Previous experience in administration and data entry experience is a must 
  • Strong Excel skills, including filtering, sorting, formulas and data manipulation (must complete a short skills test)
  • Experience creating templates and improving administrative processes
  • Exposure to macros, automation tools and use of AI (Claude, Microsoft CoPilot etc) 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Confident communicator who asks questions when information is unclear
  • Experience using SharePoint or similar document management systems is advantageous
