A growing and highly regarded boutique tile business is launching its first Victorian showroom in Richmond, Melbourne and is looking for a confident, design-focused Showroom Sales Consultant to become a key part of the journey.
Specialising in premium tessellated and mosaic tiles, this business works closely with homeowners, interior designers, architects and builders to create visually striking spaces through colour, texture, shape, and pattern.
This is not a standard retail sales role. It is a consultative showroom position suited to someone who genuinely enjoys design, loves interacting with people and has the confidence to guide customers toward the right outcome while driving sales.
About the Role
As the face of the Melbourne showroom, you will work closely with customers to help bring their design visions to life. You will provide product recommendations, assist with selections and layouts, create mock-ups where required, and build relationships with architects, designers, and retail clients.
The role will initially involve close collaboration and training with the business owners, including potential onboarding within the Sydney showroom before the Melbourne site officially opens.
This is a highly autonomous role with strong support from the founders and wider business remotely via phone, Zoom, and Teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with retail customers, interior designers, architects, and builders in the showroom
- Recommend tile selections based on style, functionality, colour, and layout requirements
- Assist with design concepts, mood boards, and mock-ups
- Build strong relationships with the Architecture & Design community
- Confidently guide customers through the sales process and close opportunities
- Maintain showroom presentation and visual merchandising standards
- Handle enquiries, quotes, follow-ups, and customer communication
- Work collaboratively with the business owners to help establish and grow the Melbourne showroom
- Background in Interior Design, Styling, Architecture, or a similar creative field highly regarded
- Previous showroom, retail, or consultative sales experience preferred
- Strong eye for design, colour, textures, and spatial presentation
- Confident communicator who enjoys speaking with people
- Naturally persuasive and commercially minded
- Able to balance customer service with a strong sales approach
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership
- Positive, energetic, and loves a challenge
- Experience working with architects and designers is advantageous
