Position: Senior Account Manager (Events/Experiential Agency)
The
Senior Account Manager in an events or experiential agency is a strategic client partner, responsible for managing key accounts, fostering significant client relationships, and driving revenue growth. They lead complex projects, provide senior counsel to clients, and mentor junior account team members, ensuring the delivery of high-impact experiential solutions that meet and exceed client objectives.
Day to day, a Senior Account Manager oversees a portfolio of high-value clients, develops integrated account strategies, identifies major growth opportunities, and champions the agency's creative and strategic capabilities. They are expert communicators, negotiators, and problem-solvers, adept at navigating intricate client environments and delivering exceptional results.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key agency accounts in the events and experiential sector.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to maximise client retention and revenue.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing senior-level counsel and insights.
- Lead the development of large-scale proposals and pitches for new and existing business.
- Oversee the financial performance of accounts, ensuring profitability and accurate forecasting.
- Collaborate with internal creative, strategy, and production teams to develop innovative solutions.
- Mentor and support junior account team members, fostering their development.
- Negotiate contracts, scopes of work, and budgets with clients.
- Ensure the seamless delivery of complex projects, maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Actively seek out new business opportunities and contribute to the agency's growth.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5-7+ years) as a Senior Account Manager or similar role within a leading events, experiential, or creative agency.
- Demonstrated track record of growing key accounts and exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to understand complex client business challenges.
- Exceptional client relationship management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in managing large-scale project budgets and financial forecasting.
- Deep understanding of the events, experiential, and broader marketing landscape.
- Resilient, proactive, and able to thrive in a demanding agency environment.
